Metalúrgica Nakayone expands press shop with fourth line from ANDRITZ Schuler

The Brazilian automotive supplier has ordered another 1,600-ton transfer press system at the beginning of the year. The value of the order, which was booked in the first quarter of 2025, is in the mid-single-digit million-euro range.

The line from the modular Triton series will produce structural parts for the new SUV model of a major car manufacturer. The new transfer press with a bed size of 6,100 by 2,500 millimeters will not only have an automatic destacker unit for the produced car parts, but also the Metris Smart Monitoring System for measuring press force, vibration and temperature. The measured values and trend curves can be evaluated for each die and used to optimize problem areas and for rapid error analysis.

"The good experience with the three previous systems prompted us to purchase the fourth transfer press from ANDRITZ Schuler," says Nakayone Managing Director Valdir Pereira. "In addition, it was crucial for us that the line is being built only two hours by car away from us and that experts from ANDRITZ Schuler can also be on site quickly for a service call." "This project underscores the trusting customer relationship we have already had with Nakayone for more than ten years," adds Luciano Duque, head of ANDRITZ Schuler's site in São Paulo.

The transfer press is scheduled for delivery at the end of the year, with commissioning planned for mid-2026. Metalúrgica Nakayone Ltda. was founded in 1976 and since 2007 has been part of the Spanish supplier CIE Automotive, which manufactures components and assemblies for vehicle manufacturers at over 100 locations on four continents.
