AddUp, has opened their new Tooling Competence Centre in Aachen, Germany, located within the WBA Tooling Academy.

The ability to print large metal parts is in high demand in the aeronautics, space, defense, and energy sectors. AddUp responds to this need with the announcement of a new FormUp^® 350 Evolution machine, which will allow for parts up to 1 meter tall to be printed with very high levels of productivity.

AddUp and Dassault Aviation are collaborating to move metal additive manufacturing processes from "prototyping" to "mass production" for aeronautics. To achieve this, additive technology must be optimized to demonstrate its capabilities in terms of quality, reproducibility, and productivity, to consider the mass production of metal parts that will then be integrated into aircraft.

AddUp, the French leader in metal additive manufacturing, joins the WBA Tooling Academy in Germany. A new platform equipped with a laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF) machine will allow manufacturers to use this technology for their innovative tooling projects.

AddUp is part of the ambitious “Metal3D” project, which pur- pose is to create a 3D printer that will produce the first me- tal parts in space. This project is led by the European Space Agency (ESA), Airbus Defense and Space, and other industrial and academic partners such as Highftech Engineering and Cranfield University.

The WBA Aachener Werkzeugbau Akademie GmbH and AddUp announce that they will introduce new manufacturing processes for metal 3d printing technologies, for toolmaking starting in 2022. For this purpose, a FormUp 350 New Gene- ration, a highly productive powder bed system from AddUp, will be installed at the WBA Demonstration Tool Shop early next year.

Innovative partnership between Kif Parechoc and AddUp. Kif Parechoc, an expert in watch movement components, has signed a highly innovative partnership agreement with AddUp, a French specialist in industrial metal 3D printing, to use metal additive manufacturing for very high precision watchmaking purposes.
