DMG MORI and DMQP partners unify machining peripherals to optimize the production chain.

The machine tool manufacturer DMG MORI is collaborating with its Qualified Products (DMQP) partners to integrate peripheral machining systems, tooling, tool presetting, and metrology. This technical-industrial cooperation aims to mitigate complexity and fragmentation within the digital infrastructure and physical layout of automated production plants.
The dispersion of hardware and software components from different vendors typically creates compatibility issues and efficiency losses. By unifying these subsystems under the Machining Transformation (MX) strategy, the collaborating companies establish a homogeneous solution. This integration enables complex 6-sided complete machining within a single machine setup, reducing setup times and eliminating repositioning errors across multiple workstations.

With the DMG MORI CTX gamma 3000 TC, DMG MORI is able to handle components up to 3,000 mm in length in 6-side complete machining.
The technical solution is based on the operational integration of the CTX TC and CLX TC machine series, alongside the BX portfolio, with certified peripheral components from DMQP partners. The control of the automation systems — which includes bar feeders, third-generation Robo2Go robotic handling systems, and the Robo2Go Max with a 210 kg payload capacity — is centralized through the CELOS X control platform interface. This standardized architecture ensures process data connectivity and the continuous flow of numerical control variables.
In the additive and precision manufacturing chain, the cooperation spans from metal 3D printing in the powder bed using LASERTEC SLM systems to high-precision post-processing on DMU 50 and DMU 65 monoBLOCK universal machines. The design of this technical ecosystem allows additively formed cooling channels to match the strict geometric tolerances achieved during the subsequent milling stage.

Validation and engineering support for these joint solutions are implemented beforehand through the Additive Intelligence consulting unit. This division develops and tests process viability in the precision factory prior to the final production ramp-up at the customer site. The complementarity of integrated metrology tools ensures process stability and the long-term maintainability of the industrial automation system.
This joint technological approach will be presented at the DMG MORI Open House in Bielefeld (Germany), from June 23 to 26, 2026, where the real-time operation of 25 automated machine configurations will be demonstrated.
