Tungaloy Adds New MW Wiper Inserts to CBN Insert Series for Hardened Steel Machining

Tungaloy Corporation has announced the addition of the new MW Wiper inserts to its CBN insert series for hardened steel turning.

The CBN insert series for hardened steel turning already includes several options, from flat-top inserts to molded chipbreaker inserts designed for superior chip control, and FW Wiper inserts that deliver excellent surface finish quality. The new MW Wiper inserts build on this lineup, offering an enhanced option for high-feed machining applications.

Compared to the existing FW Wiper inserts, the new MW Wiper inserts feature a larger cutting edge radius, allowing for superior surface finish even in high-feed machining. The MW Wiper is also available with HP chipbreakers for precision finishing and HS chipbreakers for high-efficiency machining, combining the benefits of molded chipbreakers and wiper technology for both excellent surface quality and improved chip control. This makes the new inserts highly effective for high-efficiency finishing.

The insert lineup includes two types of coated CBN grades: BXA20, which is highly versatile for a wide range of cutting conditions from continuous to interrupted cuts, and BXA10, which excels in wear resistance for demanding machining environments. These inserts are designed to support various hardened steel machining conditions.

The addition of the new MW Wiper inserts will further enhance productivity and precision in hardened steel turning, significantly contributing to customer productivity improvements.
