ANDRITZ’s S6-high cold rolling mill at Xichang site
With an annual capacity of 260,000 tons, the cold rolling mill is able to produce strips with a maximum width of 1,520 mm and thicknesses ranging from 7.0 mm to 0.3 mm. The project also included the advanced ANDRITZ shape:tronic system, an automation solution, a complete coolant lubrication system, and a self-contained fume exhaust and oil-separator system.
During the commissioning phase, ANDRITZ supervisors and specialists made every effort to achieve optimal rolling and technological performance. They also provided substantial support for the roll grinding process to ensure the highest quality grinding of the work rolls. Ansteel Xichang expressed strong satisfaction with the performance and the dedication shown by ANDRITZ.
To date, ANDRITZ has supplied four single-stand S6-high cold rolling mills in China, to Baosteel, Tisco, Shougang Jingtang, and Ansteel Xichang. The Ansteel Xichang installation is the country’s first combined mill for steel and titanium with two different sizes of roll sets.
