The integration of new tool systems into industrial machining enables process-reliable aluminum machining and precise fine boring operations. At the AMB trade fair (September 15 to 19, 2026, in Stuttgart, Germany), MAPAL operates as a technology partner to present integrated concepts for the automotive industry, general mechanical engineering, and aerospace sectors. The primary application areas of the provided cutting tools involve the production of highly complex components, addressing the need for strict tolerances and stable processing.
Industrial challenge and system integration
Industrial production lines require reduced mechanical setting effort and high process reliability in aluminum machining and fine boring, especially with large drilling depths. To meet these operational challenges, MAPAL assumes full responsibility for the entire process from analysis to programming, delivering ready-to-use manufacturing solutions. This integration is necessary to translate specific component requirements into a holistic system design, ensuring that operations scale efficiently.
"Users expect manufacturing solutions that guarantee economic efficiency and process reliability equally, as well as enable flexible adaptation to different requirements," states Jacek Kruszynski, Chief Technology Officer at MAPAL.
Technical solution and components
The technical solution is based on two specific tool architectures. Through a dedicated mechanical mechanism, the EA-Performance-System for fine boring enables adjustment with a single screw in the diameter range of 10 to 19 millimeters.
In parallel, the second generation of the MEGA-Deep-Drill-Alu deep drill is designed for machining aluminum alloys. The architecture combines an adapted cutting geometry with an integrated cooling system and a coordinated cutting material concept. Starting in September 2026, this tool will be available in the standard program in length designs from 15xD to 40xD for diameters ranging from 3 to 16 millimeters.
Deployment and implementation
The implementation of the machining technologies takes place via complete turnkey concepts. The company delivers fully projected and ready-to-use manufacturing processes directly to production sites within a timeframe of twelve to fourteen weeks. This deployment encompasses process analysis, the physical design and delivery of fixtures, digital simulation, programming, and direct support during the production phase to ensure seamless integration into existing industrial infrastructures.
Applications and technical use cases
Target industries include automotive manufacturing, mechanical engineering, and aerospace technology. Concrete technical use cases encompass the fine boring of tight tolerances as well as deep drilling in various aluminum alloys. The physical design of the tools ensures operational adaptability to the specific production portfolio of the respective operator.

Quantifiable impacts on infrastructure
The use of the EA-Performance-System reduces the mechanical setup and adjustment effort while maintaining high measurement accuracy and stability in fine machining. The optimized cooling and geometry of the MEGA-Deep-Drill-Alu stabilize the cutting process at large drilling depths, which allows for the flexible processing of different aluminum alloys. Through comprehensive project support and strict implementation times of a maximum of fourteen weeks, operators achieve a rapid scaling of their production capacities while ensuring continuous process stability.
